The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending February 2nd, 2025, is 116 lb. senior, Dylan Reinard, of Smithtown East HS.

Reinard was 4-0 this week, including a 6-4 decision over Anthony Lagala-Ryan in the finals of the Peter Caruso Memorial Tournament at Mahopac. Lagala-Ryan was a 2024 County Finalist/5th NYS, as well as the NHSCA Freshman National Champion, and the #1 ranked wrestler at 116 lbs. in Suffolk County.

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending January 26th, 2025, is 215 lb. sophomore, Landon Lee, of Herricks HS.

Lee went 7-0 this week, including 4 pins and 2 technical falls. In Herricks’ dual with Sewanhaka East, Landon pinned Justin DePietro (Section VIII 2nd/Ranked #2), and at the Highlander Tournament, he defeated Dylan Kent of Longwood (Section XI 4th/Ranked #3).

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending January 12th, 2025, is 101 lb. freshman, Xavier Seabury of North Babylon HS.

At the Eastern States Classic, Xavier won 5 matches against some very strong competition to bring home the 101 lb. title. Coming in as the #10 seed, Xavier defeated the #7, #2, #11, and #5 seeds and is now 22-0 this season.

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending January 5th, 2025, is 101 lb. sophomore, Chase Phillips of Ward Melville HS.

At the Smithtown Tournament, Chase won 4 matches, including a 2-1 finals victory over Tyler Conzo (2nd Section XI/8th NYS) of Smithtown West. This was a rematch of their 2024 County Tournament semifinal, where Conzo came out on top, 4-2. Chase is now a perfect 23-0 on the season.

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending December 29th, 2024, is 131 lb. junior, Jack Meyer of William Floyd HS.

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending December 22nd, 2024, is 124 lb. senior, Mason Jacobellis of Patchogue-Medford HS.

Mason Jacobellis was 5-0 this past week, while defeating two All-State wrestlers. During the semi-finals of the Rick Hermann Memorial, Mason defeated Gino Manta (Hauppauge) 10-5. Manta placed 7th is New York State last season. During the finals, Mason pinned John Glenn's Tommy Aiello in 5:34 after having grabbed a 5-4 lead. Aiello placed 4th in New York State last season and was a NYS Champion in 2022. 

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending December 15th, 2024, is 152 lb. senior, Kingston Strouse of Northport HS.

Kingston was 6-0 for the week, including 4 technical falls, one pin, and a 11-10 finals victory at the Commack Classic Tournament.  In the semifinals, he won by technical fall over State Qualifier, Leo Tansley, of Collegiate and in the finals he defeated Section 1 placer, Matt Cascione of Ossining.

The LIWA Wrestler of the Week, for the week ending December 8th, 2024, is 131 lb. senior, Jake Strianese of Oceanside HS.

Jake was 6-0 for the week, including 3 pins, 2 technical falls, and a thrilling finals victory at the Battle at the Beach at Long Beach. After disposing of his first four opponents, Jake scored an exciting sudden victory decision (15-12) over returning Section VIII Champion/8th NYS, Carlos Salazar of Hewlett.
