Starting strength and starting power is incredibly important for any whistle start situation. If you want to be explosive off of the whistle you need to build strength and power from a static position. One of my favorite exercises to develop starting power is the kneeling jump. If you want to have explosive stand ups and escapes off of the whistle this is a crucial exercise to add to your strength and power routine.
