Grip strength is one of the most important qualities a wrestler can develop.  Grip strength allow a wrestler to set up leg attacks, and pinning combinations through various set ups and hand fighting techniques. If you hand and grip is weak you are putting yourself at an extreme disadvantage.  Grip strength can also give you a HUGE mental advantage if you grab a hold off your opponent and they physically can’t get their hand back!
