John Gaglione's Power Series Wrestling Training # 21

Wrestler-Power Series #21 Swiss Bar Floor Press versus Chains

Swiss Bar Floor Press versus Chains

Movement Category: Upper Body Push

Athletic Benefits:  The Swiss bar floor press with chain is a great strength builder for athletes who may have limitations in their shoulders. The limited range of motion and neutral grip of the Swiss bar limits shoulder rotation and stress on the shoulder joint. By utilizing chains for accommodating resistance it also reduces the amount of weight in the bottoms helping reduce shoulder stress even more while still overloading the triceps at the top of the movement. Lastly the neutral handles will develop the stabilizers in the forearm by resisting ulnar and radial deviation while pressing. These muscles are important in combat and racket sports.
