John Gaglione's Wrestling Exercise of the Week # 11

Bat Wings

Movement Category:
Upper Body Pull

Athletic Benefits: The partner bat wing is a great option for beginners who can’t do a pull up yet, but also is an important exercise for advanced trainees as well. Isometric strength is often neglected in people’s training program and can be found in a variety for sports especially in MMA and wrestling. This exercise will give athletes the local muscular endurance necessary for holding onto the ball or another opponent. This is a good alternative for pull ups in the wrestling room when bars are not available.  To make the movement harder you can perform it with straight legs.
