Cambridge, MA -- Chris Skretkowicz, Mike Patrovich and Jon Masa each recorded pins, and two other Pride wrestlers posted five-point tech falls to lead number eight Hofstra to a 39-9 victory over Harvard late Saturday night. The Pride, who won eight of the 10 matches against the Crimson, improved to 3-1 in dual matches this season.

Harvard won its one and only bout of the night on the mat in the evening’s first match-up as Robbie Preston edged Hofstra redshirt freshman Dave Tomasette 6-4 at 125 pounds to give the Crimson a 3-0 lead. But Hofstra won the next eight matches, beginning with freshman Charles Griffin’s five-point tech fall (18-2) win over Brent Kakesako at 133. Pride senior Ricky LaForge gave Hofstra an 8-3 lead with a 7-2 decision over Mike Baria at 141. Senior Jon Masa avenged a loss earlier in the day at Boston University with a pin of Dominic Denunzio at 6:23 to boost the Pride lead to 14-3.

Sophomore James Strouse posted an 8-0 major decision over Matt Button and sophomore Mike Patrovich posted his second win of the day and the season with a pin of Nathan Picarsic at 4:51 of the 165 pound match for a 24-3 advantage. Senior Paul Siemon also posted a five-point tech fall (20-5) over Jonathan Butler at 174 and freshman Joe Rovelli added a 9-0 major decision over Billy Colgan to boost the lead to 33-3. Senior Chris Skretkowicz improved to 13-1 on the year with a pin of Andrew Dane in 54 seconds of their 197-pound match. Harvard’s Bode Ogunwole won by forfeit at heavyweight to close out the scoring at 39-9.

The eighth-ranked Pride will be off until the new year when they resume on January 9 at Sacred Heart University at 4 p.m.
