NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE
2009 NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

For the second consecutive year Nassau Community College has won the NJCAA National Title.

This year's team almost doubled the score of the second-place team, Rochester Community College.

The Lions were led by their two freshman national runner-ups Ricardo Gomez (125lbs) and Bobby Ward (149lbs).  Nassau CC also had three others who achieved NJCAA All-American honors: Tom Rispoli (149lbs) who finished 6th, Eduardo Delgado(157lbs) who finished 4th, along with Brandon Williamson (285lbs) who finished 3rd, a two time NJCAA All American.

All the Nassau wrestlers contributed to the championship with wins: Warren Murray (133lbs), Tyshaun Patrick (165lbs), Pat Bell (174lbs), Jesus Cartenga (184lbs) and Eric Roehrig (197lbs).

Coach Paul Schmidt was named NJCAA Coach of the Year.
