Four Sign With Hofstra During Early Signing So Far

Hofstra announced earlier this week they have received two National Letters of Intent.  Mitch Smith from Ripley High School in West Virginia and Mike Pucillo out of Walsh Jesuit High School in Ohio have officially signed to wrestle for the Pride.  Smith is a two-time state champion and three-time finalist.  Smith also added a Junior National title to his resume this past July, when he captured the 140 pound weight class.  Smith is a four-time Junior National All-American and a two-time Cadet National All-American.  Pucillo is three-time place winner and two-time finalist in the state of Ohio.  He has won the Ironman Tournament and placed second at the Beast of the East, two of the toughest folkstyle tournaments in the country.  This past summer Pucillo earned All-American honors at Junior Nationals wrestling up a weight class.  According to Hofstra Coach Tom Ryan Alton Lucas from West Babylon High School and John Andriac from Port Jervis High school in Section 9 and currently wrestling for Nassau Community College have also signed National Letters of Intent.  Lucas was the 152lb New York State Champion last year and runner-up in 2003.  Lucas is also a 4-time Cadet All-American with a Cadet National title in 2003.  In 2004 he was an All-American in both styles at Junior Nationals and placed second at the FILA Cadet Freestyle Nationals.  Andriac placed fourth in New York in 2002 and finished third at the NJCAA National Championships last year.
