Community College Wrestling
Nassau’s Chris Deluca and Chris Weidman signed letters of intent to attend North
Carolina State and Hofstra University. The two All Americans will be completing
their second years at Nassau this upcoming season. Both are currently ranked 3rd
in the Nation in the latest NJCAA National Polls.
Chris
Deluca's (East Meadow HS) first year in Collegiate wrestling was outstanding.
He finished up with a 31-2 record, finished third in the NJCAA, won the East
Stroudsburg Open, the Wilkes and the Mid Atlantic Championships. He will be
pursuing a Business Degree at North Carolina State University.
Chris
Weidman (Baldwin HS), a former NYS High School Champion, added the NYS
Collegiate Championship to his mantel this past year, becoming the first Junior
College Wrestler to ever win the NYS Championship. Chris had an overall 35-3
record plus a 3rd place finish in the NJCAA. Chris is very excited
to have the chance to continue his wrestling career in Long Island at Hofstra
University.
