Tyree Sutton Commits to Wrestle for Nassau
Community College
After finishing his senior year with
an undefeated season and a National Championship, Tyree Sutton, the
Keansburg High School All Star chose Nassau Community College to
continue his education and wrestling career. In 2015 Tyree won the
New Jersey State Championship and finished his high school career by
winning a National Title at the Flo Nationals where he won MOW.
Tyree was the first New Jersey State Champion in the history of
Keansburg High School.
Tyree hopes to excel at the Junior College level and follow the same
path that former Nassau wrestlers have, such as Chris Weidman (Hofstra),
Mike Trotta (Buffalo), Chris Notte (Oklahoma State), Anthony Abidin
(Nebraska), Joe DeAngelo (North Carolina State), James Dekrone (West
Virginia), Dan Sutherland (Clarion) to name a few.
Tyree will be joining a strong 2015-16 Nassau team that will have a
returning NJCAA National Champion Joe Russ (133lbs) and a red shirt
freshman Louis Hernandez in the line-up plus six starters from last
years team. Hernandez was a two-time NY State Champion and a High School
National Champion in 2014.
