Islip Advanced was instituted to allow the wrestler who strives to be a champion the opportunity to train and learn from a proven system of success. Techniques, strategies, situational wrestling and a winning mentality are all part of the camp goals. The Islip Track Record speaks for itself. In the past 11 seasons Islip has produced:
7 NY State Champions 12 New York State Finalists 19 NY State Place-winners 9 All-Americans
Many of these wrestlers will either be camp members or clinicians and share their reasons for success.
“There are No Secrets”
This camp is designed for the wrestler who strives to be a champion. There will be a folk style training camp and a freestyle group as a prelude to the freestyle national training camp for those who qualified for the National Championships in Fargo or the Empire State Games. |

Steve Arey– Islip Asst. Head Coach Coach Arey has been named Junior Varsity Coach of the Year numerous times and has been an integral part of Islip’s success. Coach Arey is an outstanding technician and motivator. |
Head Coach Joe Patrovich Coach Patrovich is a winner of Coach of the Year in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties. In 2006 he was the NWCA United States Regional Coach of the Year. |
Mike Patrovich—Hofstra University 2X NCAA Div. I All-American and Captain. Three time NYS Place-winner, two time NYS Finalist, New York State Champion, High School National Champion, 4 time Section XI Place-winner, Section XI Champion of Champions and on of Suffolk Counties All-Time win leaders. |

Ryan Patrovich—Islip HS 5X High School All-American, 2X Jr. National Finalist, Sr. National Finalist (4X Freestyle All-American), 3X NY State Finalist, 2X NY State Champion, Section XI Champion of Champions, 6X Section XI Place-winner(2nd in Suffolk County History) and 2nd All-Time on Long Island in victories with 215 Career Wins. Pinned or teched his way through the Section XI Tournament for two years in a row. Did not surrender a takedown his entire Senior Year.

Rob Cuffie - SUNY Brockport 2X Division III All-American and 3X Empire Conference Champion. 2X All-County at Brentwood HS, 2X NY State Freestyle Champion, Empire State Games Champion.
